Support Services

Reading Recovery

This programme is designed to meet the needs of children who have turned six years of age and have been diagnosed through "the Diagnostic Survey" (Marie Clay 1972), as having learning difficulties in reading. Children selected for this programme attend an individualised half hour session daily until they are ready to be "discontinued". Four children are able to be catered for in the Reading Recovery Programme at any one time.

Group Special Education/Resource Teachers/Learning and Behaviour

These services may be called on by the school or parents to assess and advise on children with special needs of learning and behaviour. Please contact the school first as a joint approach to G.S.E. is more likely to gain priority.

If you have a concer about your child's learning or behaviour please contact Vicki Swider who is our ANCO (Additional Needs Co-Ordinator) teacher.
